BMW had previously commented that seems to be the new S1000RR in a short clip on their social media channels. There’s not much to say about the short clip in which a bicycle passes too quickly by a static camera to see something with the cable: “A… incoming head of adrenalina”. “
BMW stunned the establishment of superbike a decade ago when they launched the original BMW S1000RR. Now they are about to do it all again when they reveal the version of the next year.
Adrenaline runs through your veins as the motorcycle which is below you runs on the black asphalt.
Both thirsty speed and grip. You provoke the ideal line and range limit. Every millimeter and millisecond it is vital here. And here is where have the power and control of your bicycle.
These bikes and every one of its details focus on the higher and more accurate performance. You can demand it all, but only if you’re ready to give you all
Officially, will have to wait until the show Intermot in Cologne this October to see the bike, but these CAD images, taken from official company design patent for the 2019 S1000RR, clearly show all the major details.
There is much to absorb, but it is quite clear that this is a completely new design. Engine, chassis, suspension and bodywork have been designed from scratch with the clear intention of making this a great leap forward from the current S1000RR. BMW rivals should be concerned.
The engine remains a four in line, but all visible parts are brand new, so it is not just an evolution. It ensures more power and that means more than 200 hp.
The chassis is also new and cling more to the engine that most of castings of beams. Its Rails acquire an unusual zig-zag form to pass on the transmission and then soar to follow the angle of the cylinders to the head. The intention seems to be to make the bike more compact than ever, and certainly looks small in these photos.
In the back, the swingarm is supported from below instead of above. That is a practice standard in MotoGP, but unique among the current crop of 1000cc superbikes. Normally, large exhaust manifold box under the front of the swingarm means that designers use reinforcements which are executed on the swingarm instead.
It is impressive that BMW have managed to squeeze it all without such commitments, particularly because it has a smaller than the current S1000RR closing pot, and is surely designed to meet 2020 Euro5 emission limits.
When it comes to styling, everything changes. In particular, BMW has abandoned twisted lighthouses that have been a trademark of S1000RR for a decade. Instead there is a pair of matching LED lights in a symmetrical nose. Central air intake goes back to the design of the old bike, which gives it a bit of continuity.
